Following the sad fatality in October 2014 and Jo Clements’ insistence that the matter should be considered by the Council’s Transportation Advisory Group, a report was eventually presented on 19th November 2015. Members of the committee noted
- That the Coroner’s report has advised that the highway design was not a contributory factor to the death of Mr Dixson.
- The Council as part of its normal procedure has undertaken normal safety audits during each stage of the Sea View Roundabout Three Town’s Travel Scheme.
- With minor adjustments made already, the safety audit process is ongoing and the maintenance of the coloured surfacing that informally demarks the roundabout and stop line approaches at Sea View has been programmed.
At this time, other than the above, there are no further changes planned to the general arrangement at Sea View.
