Mark Robson was elected as the new chairman of the Poole Lib Dems at a recent special general meeting.
He will take over from outgoing chairman Grant Gillingham in January after being unanimously voted in. Former council leader and long-time Lib Dem campaigner Brian Clements will continue as president.
Mark served 26 years in the military working in a variety of operational theatres both in the UK and overseas. In 2016, he retired from the military and made the decision to retrain as a driving instructor with a local driving school.

He joined the Lib Dems in June 2018 after feeling let down by the Conservatives over Brexit. Mark believes in a better way to achieve social responsibility and that the Lib Dems are the only party offering real solutions.
Mark said: “For too long we have had a Conservative-dominated authority which time and time again has failed to deliver essential services or value for all taxpayers. The Lib Dems demand better."
